This week I will be sharing about our Disney trip last year and answer questions about all things Disney!
Last March my husband and I took our two toddlers (11 months and almost 3 years old) and my in-laws for a week at Walt Disney World! We stayed at Shades of Green and had a magical time. I grew up going to Disney World throughout my child and teenage years. The last vacation I took alone with my family before I got married was a trip to all of the Disney parks in Orlando. Basically, I have experienced WDW for every chapter of life! Anyway…
For years I have heard all about Chef Mickey’s.Well, it was booked solid while we were there. (I’ll admit I was a little disappointed!) I got back on the Disney website and searched for a place that would be able to accommodate the six of us and found Cape May Cafe located at Disney’s Beach Club resort. I had never heard of it, so I was a little weary, but it’s a Disney resort and the characters sounded great. Honestly, the reviews made it sound too good to be true. However, they were available on the day I wanted and they had two times left to choose from.
So I took the plunge! I was expecting a nice breakfast with ok food and crowds that we would have to battle to get a good picture with our kids and Goofy.
Didn’t get what I expected at all.
The food was phenomenal. Yes, it was SO good. Mickey waffles, muffins, eggs, grits, bacon sausage, breakfast pizza, biscuits, french toast, oatmeal, bagels, seasoned potatoes, pudding, cereal, coffee, fruit, ETC. It’s all you can eat and we came to eat! We gorged ourselves on food. The atmosphere was great! The restaurant is open and you can see everything! It was clean and everyone was so friendly. Goofy, Donald, and Minnie came to our table individually and played with the kids and we got great pictures as they signed Liam’s autograph book and gave them hugs and kisses. Donald came by twice and the second time he colored with Liam and admired Liam’s stuffed animal version of Donald Duck! (Ha!)
This character breakfast is a MUST! Granted, I don’t have another one to compare it to, but WOW WOW WOW! This will be one we go on every time. When we finished, we toured the lobby where the waiting area has a tv that plays old Disney cartoons. There are beautiful sand castles encased in glass all around. The resort is beach themed and looks so clean and open. The views of the resort are beautiful and the laid back style is great with children and adults alike!
